In our industry, Lock Out/ Tag Out (LOTO) isn’t just a compliance requirement - it’s a fundamental safeguard. The principle is simple: ensure that no one is exposed to hazardous energy while maintenance, repair, or inspection work is being performed. The execution, however, requires discipline, training, and an unwavering commitment to safety.

⚡️ ELECTRICAL ISOLATION

Protects workers by isolating and securing electrical power sources, and preventing accidental re-energization.

🔧 PROCESS ISOLATION

Involves physically separating oil and gas process equipment or pipelines from hazardous energy sources such as fluids, pressure or heat, ensuring safe access for maintenance or modifications.

⚙️ MECHANICAL ISOLATION

Establishes physical barriers (like double block and bleed valve systems) that isolate piping and equipment from hazardous energy and fluids.

🔩 POSITIVE ISOLATION

The gold standard. Achieved through methods such as piping spool removal or blind flange/spade insertion, it ensures complete physical separation from all hazardous energy sources.

💥 STORED ENERGY

Often overlooked, but equally critical. Even after isolation, residual pressure, hydraulic energy, electrical energy, or mechanical force must be identified, released, or controlled before work begins.

LOTO Is About People, Not Paperwork

At Boss, we are committed to building and maintaining a strong and proficient safety culture that goes beyond compliance. Every lock applied and every tag placed represents a promise to protect our teammates, our worksites, and our future. By holding ourselves accountable and watching out for one another, we ensure that safety remains at the core of everything we do.
